After a quote? Prices depend heavily on the level of decorative intricacy involved and how labour-intensive the cake is to make - some can take hours, others days! Once you have an idea of what you’d like, please use our designated cake Enquiry Form to obtain a quote. If you are happy with your quote and would like to order, a more detailed consultation can be arranged with you if need be.
Our smallest traditional cake will feed around 10-20 depending on overall height. Check out our portion guides.
Our minimum for cupcakes to order is 12 of a single sponge flavour, this is the smallest batch we can make of a single recipe because everything is made specially for you! We do not keep stock of any cakes or cupcakes so need time to create them...
All order totals should be in multiples of 6 or 12 thereafter. When placing large orders the minimum order quantity for each flavour will increase in order for production to be feasible. For all cupcakes to order or advance bespoke cakes we take a set deposit of £95 which holds the time required in our schedule. We reach a maximum capacity for cake orders each week and as we can’t predict when dates will fill, advance booking is highly recommended. Seasonal times can be busier.
The order balance will be invoiced 1-3 weeks before your event. Orders under a month away and/or under £95 in value are payable in full at the time of ordering for the booking to be reserved.
Once you have left your deposit or payment, we will turn down other work for the same time therefore all advance order payments and deposits are non-refundable in the event of cancellation, under any circumstances.

You can collect cake orders by arrangement from our shop in Chelmsford during our opening hours which do vary. A mutually agreeable collection time will be discussed with you when ordering.
Cakes are fragile, so we offer a dedicated driver delivery service around most parts of London, Essex, Kent, Herts, Suffolk, Cambs and neighbouring counties with a full set up service for weddings and events. We can also travel further afield by special request.
Delivery charges will cover our staff time for the return journey as well as mileage. Please provide your venue postcode when enquiring for an exact delivery cost.
Traditional buttercream
Our most popular icing - this is used in between the sponge layers of all of our cakes, on the tops of cupcakes, and also as an outside coating on semi-naked and buttercream cake designs including out popular ‘drip’ cakes.
Swiss Meringue Buttercream
A smoother, silkier type of buttercream available on regular cakes and cupcakes.

Rolled fondant icing
This icing is rolled out and applied to the outside of traditional round or square cakes and also all of our 3D shaped / hyper real novelty cakes.
Marzipan
Almond based roll out icing used as an extra layer under rolled fondant on traditional fruit cakes.
We use buttercream to fill between sponge layers of all our cakes, for the outside coating of buttercream cake designs and also to ice the tops of cupcakes. Choose frm the list below:

Set up service
When you ask for personal set up & delivery for your event, we will liaise with venue staff regarding your cake set up to arrange a discreet time to go in and set up before your guests arrive.
Stands
Tiered Cake Stands – We do not hire cake stands for tiered cakes however most venues have traditional ‘pedestal’ stand or log slice for tiered cakes which we will use if you require. Otherwise all our cakes are made on an iced presentation board which can simply be placed on a table so there is no need for a stand when you order with us.
Cupcakes – We hire perspex cupcake stands and build these to fit the number of cupcakes you are having. Excess cupcakes that do not fit on the stand, usually over 80, can either be left in their boxes or cascade onto the table.
Prices
Cupcake stand hire costs £15. On top of this you will need to leave a deposit of £50 which is payable at the time of ordering. In the event of damage, loss or no return within 7 days of your event date this deposit will be retained. It is your responsibility to return the stand to us, collection of stands from venues after the event is not possible.
Got your own stand?
We are happy to set up your cakes on your own stand if you already have one. This will need to be assembled and of the appropriate size for when we arrive at the venue to set up. A 6 tiered stand will fit 60-80 cupcakes and 1 cutting cake on the top (this figure is approximate.) Our cutting cake boards measure 7 inches diameter, and the top tier should be of a similar size to accommodate this.
