Below is a guide to prices but if you require something else just send us as much information as possible about the design and size we will be happy to quote for you.
The price of cakes depend heavily on the level of decorative intricacy involved and how labour intensive they are to make – some things can be very time consuming! Don’t see what you’re looking for on our site? Send us a photo of your own idea and we can adapt it for you.

Bespoke Cakes & Other Items
Shaped cakes that require a structure or carving by eye take a great deal of research, time and care. These projects carry a minimum order value of £300. In order to quote for your cake we need a good idea of what you want it to look like, how many people you want it to feed or a size, and your budget where applicable. Feel free to send photos or anything you have seen that you like, everything can be adapted to your requirements, but it helps to have a visual starting point!
If you would like any other items baked such as cookies, marshmallows, macarons etc just get in touch with your requirements.

Our minimum order for cupcakes is 12 of a single sponge flavour, this is the smallest batch we can make of a recipe because everything is made fresh to order.
All order totals should be in multiples of 6 or 12 thereafter. When placing large orders the minimum order quantity for each flavour will go up in order for production to be feasible.

The minimum order for cake pops is 12 of a single flavour and colour combination. When placing large orders the minimum order quantity for each flavour will go up in order for production to be feasible.
Mini Cakes & Baubles

Ordering
How to Order
Owing to the volume of enquiries received we kindly ask that initially you email bespoke cake enquiries to us. Please tell us as much as possible about your design requirements, quantity you want to feed / cake size, and importantly the date it is required to info@gourmetcupcakes.co.uk and we will email you back with availability and a quote. Following this we can arrange a more detailed chat or consultation if you wish to pursue your order with us.
To place an order for set price items such as cupcakes this can be done on email or over the phone on 01245 283986 (opening hours vary). If you are ordering for a wedding or event when you wish to reserve the date in advance you can leave a £95 deposit and pay the balance later once you have finalised your exact order requirements. Orders under a month away and/or under £95 in value are payable in full at the time of ordering for the booking to be reserved.
Collection & Delivery
You can collect cake orders by arrangement from our shop in Chelmsford during our opening hours which always vary. A mutually agreeable collection time will be discussed with you when ordering.
Cakes are fragile, so we offer a dedicated driver delivery service around most parts of London, Essex, Kent, Herts, Suffolk, Cambs and neighbouring counties with a full set up service for weddings and events.
Delivery covers our staff time and mileage and is charged at a flat rate of £12 plus 50p per mile charged on the journey to and from our shop. We can travel further afield by special request. Please supply us with your venue postcode when enquiring for an exact delivery cost.
Notice Period
** PLEASE BE AWARE THAT OWING TO THE RESCHEDULING OF MANY EVENTS, FUTURE DATES ARE NOW FILLING UP MORE QUICKLY THAN USUAL THEREFORE EARLY BOOKING IS RECOMMENDED**
It’s not so much how much notice do we need, but what else is booked in for the date you need your cake!
All our cakes are made fresh to order right before your event so we will reach a maximum capacity for many weeks of the year. Seasonal times can be busier, but as we can’t predict when dates will fill up so recommend you simply book your order in as possible to avoid disappointment.
Premade Cakes
We do not keep stock of any cakes at our shop to buy off the shelf – everything is made fresh to order. We think this is a good thing as you’re only going to get the freshest cakes, but it also means they take time… As such, we can’t turn cakes around on the same day and we also have a minimum order for things like cupcakes. How much notice we need to make an order depends on what else we have going on that day, so we recommend booking as far in advance as possible – once the date is gone it’s gone!

Don’t forget we are a creative cake company and our gallery is just some examples of our work!
